Work at the lake!

Maintenance Manager

We are currently hiring a Maintenance Manager, as described below. If this position interests you, please send your cover letter and resume to Pam Peters-Pries, Human Resource Manager at pam@falcontrailsresort.com. The application deadline is Monday, May 18, 2026.

We’re looking for a resourceful, handy person with basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance, a willingness to learn from challenges and co-workers, and a desire to develop their supervisory and leadership skills. We’ll provide the support to help you succeed! You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our cabins and grounds. That includes things like:

  • Promptly and courteously looking after repairs requested by guests.

  • Supervising hot tub maintenance and groundskeeping staff to keep them on task and to keep the resort hot tubs and grounds working and looking great.

  • Help with High Lake hosting and maintenance

  • Becoming knowledgeable about hot tub mechanics and water chemistry to effectively support hot tub maintenance staff.

  • Upholding provincial and resort health and safety standards, such as looking after regular drinking water testing.

  • Maintaining an inventory of supplies, parts and replacement items.

  • Keeping accurate records of repairs and replacements needed and completed.

  • Taking regular resort “walk-abouts” to identify and address preventative maintenance.

  • Planning ahead to complete major maintenance tasks during spring and fall cleaning periods.

  • Always being ready for “interruptions” and re-prioritizing your day to respond to things that may come up (and things often do!)

  • Working together with your supervisor and the rest of the Falcon Trails Resort team to ensure a great stay for every guest, every time.

This is a full-time position (40 hrs/week). As the resort has guests on-site 24/7, 365 days/year, all managers should expect to be scheduled for some weekend shifts and to receive some after-hours calls to address urgent matters.  On-site accommodation is available. Living at or near the resort in order to assist with after hours on-call shifts is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Aptitude for and some basic experience in household and grounds repairs and maintenance (e.g., wood working, electrical, plumbing, hot tubs, operation of power tools and yard equipment).

  • A proactive mindset for assessing building and grounds aesthetics and functionality.

  • Attention to detail to ensure processes and procedures are followed and record-keeping is maintained.

  • Flexibility to manage frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

  • Good judgment and decisiveness in assessing situations, deciding on a course of action, and setting priorities.

  • Willingness to work outside in all seasons and weather.

  • Commitment to uphold regulatory requirements and workplace health and safety standards.

  • Experience with Google Suite is an asset but is not required.

  • Experience hiring and supervising staff is an asset but is not required.

  • Commitment to hospitality and contributing to a great experience for guests.

  • Commitment to diversity, equity and respect in the workplace.

Compensation

Falcon Trails Resort offers fair wages, a modest benefit package, tool account, affordable on-site accommodations, and a friendly, upbeat work environment. Compensation details to be discussed with the successful candidate.

Application deadline: May 18, 2026

Start date: Negotiable, early to mid-June preferred.
