WHITESHELL WILDFIRE UPDATE
We are happy to report that there have been further fire and travel restrictions lifted in the Whiteshell today and we are now at a Level 2. All park trails have reopened and campfires are now allowed between the hours of 8pm and 8am. We've received some good rains lately and the forest canopy has really greened up. Locally the fire danger has been reduced to “Moderate” and the local air quality has been excellent (often better than Winnipeg). To sum it up, life is looking pretty beautiful at the lake right now which we are truly grateful for.
We of course (and always) still urge visitors to be wildfire smart when out in the forest and on the land to help protect the areas we love so much.
